The McNab Shepherd Registry was established to maintain a reliable, accurate database for the verification and registration of the McNab Shepherd breed. We are passionate about building a solid foundation for the advancement, protection and betterment of the breed. Our goal is to give our breeders better tools to help them create superior McNabs; the best in health, temperament, structure, athleticism and overall quality. This will in turn ensure all owners receiving pups the very best and most diversified McNab to enrich their lives.
The DNA Testing Process
The MSR has been made aware that to facilitate this goal we will have to also include the requirement of having not only the Wisdom Panel 4.0 test but also a DNA Profiling test done as well.
Please note the differences in test: The Wisdom Panel test is required to verify your dog’s genetic markers cluster to the now recognized unique genetic signature of the McNab Shepherd. The DNA Profiling test is a separate test that will establish each individual dogs own unique “paw print” (think fingerprint) as well as include their parentage testing verification. So now we will be able to continue increasing our database that will help us continue to “connect the lineages” and link us back to hopefully even older bloodlines.
